Renault has revealed a major update for its Megane E-Tech electric, introducing a redesigned

exterior, a new-generation battery, faster charging capabilities and enhanced onboard

technology as it looks to strengthen its position in the competitive C-segment EV market.

Originally launched in 2022, the Megane E-Tech electric was Renault’s first model built on its

dedicated electric vehicle platform. The updated version focuses on four key areas: improved

design, enhanced electric performance, upgraded connectivity and a simplified model range.

Key Changes

New Design

The revised Megane E-Tech electric receives a significantly reworked front end featuring a new

lighting signature, redesigned grille and a sportier bumper design. Renault says the changes give

the car a stronger road presence and more dynamic appearance.

The range is now simplified to two trim levels:

• Techno

• Esprit Alpine

A new Satin Blue exterior colour joins the palette, while the Esprit Alpine version gains

distinctive styling elements and features 20 inch alloy wheels as standard.

New Battery and Improved Range

A major upgrade comes in the form of a new 67kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery

paired with Renault’s 220hp electric motor.

Key figures include:

• Power: 220hp (160kW)

• Torque: 300Nm

• WLTP Range: Up to 500km

• 0-100km/h: 7.6 seconds

Renault says the new battery uses innovative cell-to-pack technology to improve efficiency and

usable energy capacity.

Faster Charging

Charging performance has also improved significantly.

• DC rapid charging: up from 130kW

• 15-80% charge: Approximately 24 minutes

• 11kW AC charger standard• 22kW AC charger available as an option

The Megane also retains Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing owners to power external

devices directly from the vehicle battery.

Enhanced Technology

The Megane continues with Renault’s OpenRLink cockpit featuring:

• 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster

• 12-inch central touchscreen

• Google built-in services

• Google Maps EV route planning

• Google Assistant voice control

Renault has also confirmed that Google Gemini AI will be integrated in future updates.

Additional technology upgrades include:

• One-Pedal driving function

• Optional Driver recognition system

• Qi2/MagSafe-compatible wireless smartphone charging

• Smart Mode that automatically switches between Eco, Comfort and Sport settings

• More than 100 downloadable apps through Google Play

Driver Assistance and Connectivity

The updated Megane features over 30 driver assistance systems, including:

• Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control

• Emergency Stop Assist

• Predictive Eco Driving Advice

• Safety Score and Safety Coach functions

Renault is also launching an enhanced my rnlt smartphone app, allowing owners to remotely

monitor charging, pre-condition the cabin, plan routes and manage vehicle functions.

Built in France

The Megane E-Tech electric continues to be manufactured in France at Renault’s ElectriCity

production hub in Douai, with the motor produced at Cléon and battery assembly also carried

out in France.
