Peugeot Ireland has announced pricing for the new Peugeot E-208 GTi at €40,100, including state subsidies. Bringing fully electric performance to one of motoring’s most recognisable badges, the new model combines Peugeot’s GTi heritage with a renewed focus on driving enjoyment.

Deliveries to Irish customers are expected to begin from March 2027.

A new chapter in the GTi story

The E-208 GTi continues a lineage established by the Peugeot 205 GTi, introduced in 1.6-litre form in 1984 and followed by the 1.9-litre version in 1986. Its first fully electric successor draws on Peugeot Sport’s motorsport expertise, including experience gained through the Peugeot 9X8 World Endurance Championship programme.

The best electric performance in the B segment

The Peugeot E-208 GTi is equipped with the M4+ electric motor, developing 281 hp and delivering 345 Nm of torque. Engineered by Peugeot Sport, it offers the best performance of all models in the B segment, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds, with a top speed limited to 180 km/h.

A mechanical limited-slip differential, integrated into the reduction gearbox, helps optimise traction and power delivery when accelerating out of corners.

Peugeot Sport’s chassis changes include a 25 mm lower ride height, tracks widened by 56 mm at the front and 28 mm at the rear, specific springs and dampers with hydraulic bump stops, and an additional rear anti-roll bar.

Braking is provided by 355 mm front discs with fixed four-piston callipers. The car rides on 18-inch wheels, with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S performance tyres fitted as standard.

Electric range and everyday versatility

The E-208 GTi uses a 54 kWh battery with 51 kWh usable capacity, supported by thermal management adapted to performance driving. It offers a combined WLTP range of up to 352 km on its standard Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres.

Charging from 20–80% takes less than 30 minutes using a 100 kW DC charger. Vehicle-to-Load functionality also allows the car’s battery to power external devices, adding another practical dimension to the new electric GTi.

Design with a clear connection to the 205 GTi

The perforated wheels recall the 205 GTi’s distinctive wheel design while assisting brake cooling. Widened wheel arches, a front spoiler and a gloss-black rear diffuser reinforce the sporting stance, complemented by Peugeot’s three-claw lighting signature.

The new Peugeot E-208 GTi will be available in seven exterior colours: Okénite White, Elixir Red, Neon Blue, Perla Nera Black, Artense Grey, Selenium Grey and Agueda Yellow. The new Neon Blue metallic finish is available at an additional €900.

Red detailing continues inside, with red carpets, floor mats and seatbelts. The supportive front seats feature integrated headrests and detailing inspired by both the 205 GTi 1.6 and 1.9.

The compact steering wheel combines perforated leather and Alcantara, while GTi-specific performance displays and red ambient lighting complete the cabin.

Connected technology

Peugeot i-Connect Advanced includes connected TomTom navigation, “OK Peugeot” voice recognition and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Through the MyPeugeot app, owners can schedule charging and pre-condition the cabin before departure.

With its combination of electric performance and Peugeot Sport chassis development, the E-208 GTi brings an exciting new dimension to the Peugeot range in Ireland.

Alan Kilroy, Managing Director of Peugeot Ireland, commented on the launch: “The GTi badge holds a special place in Peugeot’s history, and the new E-208 GTi brings that heritage into an exciting electric era. With Peugeot Sport engineering, 281 hp and a clear focus on driving enjoyment, this is a car we’re particularly looking forward to welcoming to Ireland. At €40,100, it offers a compelling package for Irish drivers seeking an electric hot hatch with authentic GTi character.”
