The new Opel Mokka GSE has arrived in Ireland. This is the most powerful electric road car ever made by Opel and a winner of the Golden Steering Wheel 2025. Inspired by the new Mokka GSE Rally, it features a unique GSE motorsport design. A special-order model in Ireland, it’s priced from €39,410 including SEAI grant and VRT rebate. It combines sportiness with maximum safety and comfort. The new Corsa GSE model will join the Mokka GSE at the end of 2026.

James Brooks, Managing Director of Opel in Ireland, said: “The new Mokka GSE is a pure driving pleasure. It’s all-electric, efficient, practical and incredibly emotional. It’s already an award-winner and revives the high-performance Opel GSE badge of old while looking to the future as Grand Sport Electric.”

The Opel Mokka GSE offers high-performance as standard. It has a peak output of 281hp (207kW) and is just as powerful as its motorsport counterpart the Mokka GSE Rally. With immediate torque of 345 Newton metres, it accelerates uncompromisingly, reaching 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds. However, with great power comes great responsibility. A top speed of 200 km/h is set, and high-performance race-grade Alcon 380mm ventilated front brake discs are fitted for optimal stopping distance.

Three distinct drive modes – Sport, Normal and Eco – allow for up to 336km (WLTP) of local travel. This is achieved without emissions from its 54kWh lithium-ion battery.

Its kerb weight of under 1.6 tonnes, a testament to its battery-electric prowess, and the sophisticated rally-inspired technology contribute to its exceptional performance. For instance, the Mokka GSE features a Torsen multi-plate limited-slip differential, specially designed axles, and new hydraulic shock absorbers. High-voltage components like the motor inverter battery and wiring harness are sourced from the Mokka GSE Rally. Opel’s electric rallying experience has also optimised the steering system chassis and brakes for sporty performance.

Design and equipment details subtly hint at its racing heritage, including GSE inserts and lettering on the body, a specially developed wheel-tyre combination, and clearly visible yellow GSE four-piston brake callipers at the front.

Inside, the driver and front passenger enjoy special black GSE Alcantara performance seats with integrated headrests. Aluminium-effect sports pedals control acceleration and braking.

Standard equipment in Ireland, starting at €39,410 including grants, includes 20” GSE Performance Diamond Cut bi-colour alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport EV Tyres, a GSE Sports Bumper in High Gloss Black with Performance Inlets and GSE Badging, Intelli-Lux Matrix headlights, front and rear parking distance sensors with cameras, adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and bicycle detection, lane positioning assistant, side blind spot alert with flank guard, forward collision alert (all speeds), keyless entry and start, heated front seats, heated vegan leather steering wheel, inbuilt satellite navigation and electric vehicle route mapping, wireless phone charger, and an electro-chromatic frameless rear view mirror.

More to follow when we test drive it.
