Geely Auto, a leading global automaker, has today officially announced its entry into the Irish market, marking an important milestone in the company’s continued international expansion.

Geely Auto Ireland will introduce its range in Ireland in 2027 with three new models: the electric Geely E2 city car, the electric Geely E5 SUV and the Geely Starray EM-i SUV plug-in hybrid. The announcement signals the start of Geely Auto’s operations in Ireland, with customer sales anticipated to commence in Q1 2027.

Geely Auto Ireland will debut at the Nevo Electric Vehicle Show at the RDS Simmonscourt, Dublin on 7–8 November 2026, providing Irish consumers with their first opportunity to experience and engage with the Geely Auto brand.

Further strengthening its commitment to the Irish market, Geely Auto will officially open its headquarters in Dublin on 19th November, with a dedicated team already in place to oversee the brand’s development. Planning for the dealer network is also well underway, with a separate announcement on retail partners expected in due course.

The introduction of the Geely E2, Geely E5 and Starray EM-i will provide Irish motorists with a choice of advanced, technology-focused vehicles, reflecting Geely Auto’s commitment to innovation, quality and sustainable new-energy mobility. Details of each vehicle’s specifications, pricing and trim levels will be confirmed closer to the commercial launch into the Irish market.

“Ireland is a dynamic and forward-looking market, making it a natural next step in Geely Auto’s international growth journey,” said Phil Eaglesfield, Chief Commercial Officer, Geely Auto Ireland. “Our ambition is to bring Irish motorists a fresh alternative, combining cutting-edge technology, outstanding value and a customer experience that exceeds expectations.

“The Nevo Electric Vehicle Show will provide the first opportunity for people to discover Geely Auto and experience our products first-hand, and we are excited to begin laying the foundations for a long-term future in Ireland. With a dedicated local team, a new headquarters and plans for a nationwide retail network, this is just the start of our journey.”

Going Global

Geely Auto’s globalisation strategy is driven by its ambitious “Five by Five” framework, bringing together five global design centres, five R&D centres, five testing clusters, five powertrain pathways and five AI ecosystems to accelerate innovation and support the transition to smarter, more sustainable mobility. The strategy continues to strengthen the brand’s presence across nearly 90 countries worldwide.

In 2025, Geely Auto achieved a new sales record, delivering 3,024,567 vehicles globally, a 39% year-on-year increase and surpassing its revised annual target of three million units.

The company also continued to make significant progress internationally, with exports reaching 420,097 vehicles in 2025, further demonstrating growing demand for Geely products around the world. During the year, the marque entered 13 new markets, including the UK, Italy, Brazil and South Africa, while continuing to strengthen its presence across the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Africa, Latin America and Europe.

Geely Auto is rapidly building a global ecosystem supported by local sales, service and manufacturing operations. The company now operates in nearly 90 countries and, during 2025, launched 12 high-value models in more than 40 overseas markets, while further expanding its international retail and aftersales network.

Looking ahead, Geely Auto has set a 2026 global sales target of 3.45 million vehicles and continues to invest in its global retail, service and manufacturing footprint. Ireland is expected to play an important role in the next phase of Geely Auto’s international growth.
