Email: info@whichnewcar.ie
2) What we (don’t) collect
- We do not use analytics, advertising trackers, or profile visitors.
- We do not run user registrations or comments.
- We do not collect names, emails, or similar through forms (unless explicitly stated on a specific page).
3) What is processed automatically (server logs)
When you visit our site, our hosting infrastructure automatically processes limited data in standard server logs to operate and secure the service. This typically includes: IP address, date/time, pages visited, referrer, and browser/user-agent. These can constitute personal data under EU law and are used only to run, secure, and troubleshoot the website.
Lawful basis: Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — providing a secure, reliable website.
Retention: Server logs are kept for up to 30 days (longer if required for security investigations) and then deleted or anonymised. Some retention is controlled by our hosting provider.
4) Cookies & similar technologies
- We only use essential/operational cookies (if any).
- If we embed third-party content (e.g., YouTube, social posts), those services may set their own cookies per their policies.
- If we introduce any non-essential cookies in future, we will request consent first and update this notice.
5) Your rights
You have rights under the GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability (where applicable). You may lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (Ireland) at dataprotection.ie. Please contact us first and we’ll try to resolve any issue.
6) Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the site and any personal data processed through it (e.g., HTTPS, firewalls, restricted access).
7) Children
Our content is for a general audience and not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal data.
