EV buyers can save up to €12,500 on the cost of buying a brand-new Nissan Ariya if they move quickly to cash in on the Government’s new ‘ICE2EV’ scrappage scheme when it opens for applications on 1st July.

Drivers with petrol or diesel cars registered in 2013 or earlier automatically qualify for the new scrappage scheme, which is due to operate on a first come, first served basis for a limited period.

Fast movers will receive €5,000 scrappage and a grant of €3,500 towards the cost of buying a new EV. The total of €8,500 can be combined with Nissan’s current ‘€4k Your Way’ offer to knock €12,500 off the cost of buying a new Nissan Ariya.

‘This means that smart buyers can drive away in a brand-new Nissan Ariya from just €34,995, which is an incredible saving for a top of the range EV that is packed with safety features and connected technology,’ said Neil O’Sullivan, Head of Sales at Nissan Ireland.

‘The first thing you notice when you sit into the Nissan Ariya is the premium feel and spacious interior, and now customers can have for it for less. It has two battery options, offering a range of up to 404 kilometres or 532 kilometres,’ he added.

Buyers can also use the total grant of €8,500 that is available from the ICE2EV scrappage scheme to make massive savings across Nissan’s EV Range, including the newly launched Nissan Micra which is available from €20,995 as part of the Scrappage scheme.

The all-new Nissan Micra makes it easier than ever for drivers to fit EV driving into their everyday lives. The iconic car is an ideal choice for anyone who is new to electric driving. It
is available with 317 kilometres range, or a top range of 416 kilometres.

Nissan dealers are also taking pre-orders and booking test drives for the sleek new Nissan LEAF. It has been re-imagined as a crossover with a top range of 622 kilometres and is available from just €29,995 as part of the new EV scrappage scheme.

‘A visit to your local Nissan dealer is always a smart move when it comes to buying an EV. Nissan has been selling electric cars for over 16 years, and you can trust and rely on your local dealer to find the electric car that is right for you,’ said Neil.

‘We understand that there is a lot of terminology with EVs and that switching to electric can be daunting. Nissan are genuine EV experts, and we are here to guide you through your options, to answer your questions, and to help you make sense of the electrified landscape,’ he added.
