Renault is expanding its all-new Renault 4 E-Tech Electric range with the introduction of the Plein Sud, a distinctive new version featuring a large electrically operated canvas roof that brings an open-air driving experience to Renault’s latest electric crossover.

Inspired by iconic open-top Renault 4 models of the past, the Renault 4 E-Tech Electric Plein Sud combines the practicality, versatility and everyday usability of the standard model with a unique retractable roof, creating a new way to enjoy electric motoring.

The Plein Sud is available exclusively with Renault’s 52kWh battery and 110kW (150hp) electric motor, delivering up to 392km WLTP driving range.

Largest Opening Roof in its Class

The standout feature of the Plein Sud is its expansive electrically retractable canvas roof, measuring 92cm long by 80cm wide, creating almost one square metre of open-air space and providing what Renault describes as the widest opening in the segment.

The roof can be opened, closed or positioned at intermediate settings in around 10 seconds, either via a dedicated overhead switch or by voice command through Renault’s Reno virtual assistant. It can also be operated while driving at speeds of up to 90km/h.

Despite the addition of the retractable roof, Renault has retained all the key strengths of the Renault 4 E-Tech Electric. The Plein Sud continues to offer:

• Seating for five passengers

• A generous 420-litre boot

• Renault’s low loading sill (607mm) for easy access

• A 750kg towing capacity

• Fold-flat rear seats

• Renault’s latest OpenR Link infotainment system with Google built-in

Minimal Impact on Efficiency

The Plein Sud adds just 19kg compared with the standard fixed-roof model and maintains excellent efficiency. The Techno version achieves up to 392km WLTP, just 7km less than the equivalent standard Renault 4 E-Tech Electric.

Performance remains unchanged, with:

• 0-100km/h in 8.2 seconds

• 80-120km/h in 6.4 seconds

• Top speed of 150km/h

The model also benefits from Renault’s latest EV technologies, including:

• 11kW AC charging

• 100kW DC rapid charging

• Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) bi-directional functionality

• Google built-in connectivity

• Electric Route Planner

• Plug & Charge compatibility

• One Pedal driving

Irish Pricing

The Renault 4 E-Tech Electric Plein Sud is available to order now in Ireland, with prices starting from €34,495 for the Techno version and €36,495 for the range-topping Iconic, inclusive of applicable SEAI Government grants.

Positioned €2,500 above the equivalent fixed-roof Renault 4 E-Tech Electric models, the Plein Sud offers customers a unique open-air driving experience while retaining all of the practicality, versatility and everyday usability of Renault’s newest electric crossover.
